The story behind the name

The story behind the name

Its name brings together Paul and Kym Pearce, the people behind different chapters of Omega, with 40 years of Omega Race Karts building, racing and developing dirt karts.

The PK40 frame has been developed with input from some of Australia’s most experienced kart people, including Kym Pearce and Colin Moat, who between them bring decades of experience in kart design, building, engines and racing.

That experience has gone into developing a modern Omega chassis while keeping the things that have worked on dirt for years.

Australian manufacturing

AUSTRALIAN MADE WHERE IT MATTERS

A major part of the PK40 is made right here in Australia.

From the frame itself through to key components and finishing pieces, we work with Australian manufacturers and suppliers wherever it makes sense. The chassis, seating, floor trays, bars, axle and braking components are all Australian made.

That local manufacturing is combined with quality Italian running gear and proven components to create a kart that is distinctly Omega — Australian made, developed for Australian dirt kart racing.

BUILT FOR DIRT

Every part of the PK40 has been considered for the environment it races in.

Lightweight sidepods are designed to minimise dirt build-up, while the floor tray gives racers several choices depending on the finish and configuration they want.

The PK40 comes standard with a powder-coated aluminium floor tray, with carbon fibre available as an option.

A full-length floor tray is also available in either aluminium or carbon fibre.

BUILT BY RACERS

The PK40 isn’t a kart designed from a catalogue.

It’s the result of decades spent building, racing, testing and working on dirt karts — taking what we’ve learned at the track and putting it into the next generation of Omega.
